FTG manufactures cockpit display systems and electronic components. The requirement was for an experienced electronics manufacturing executive who could focus on productivity improvement and quality control.
Kathbern had previous experience with electronics manufacturing and so we proposed a nationwide search for executives with a similar background, not necessarily restricted to aerospace. Preference would be given to candidates on the West Coast and particularly in the Los Angeles area.
We cast a wide net and interviewed candidates from the East Coast, the Southern States and West Coast. A list of the top four candidates was presented to the client and virtual interviews were scheduled. Two candidates from the Los Angeles area were selected for in-person interviews.
Following the in-person interviews, an offer was made to one individual, however he declined on the basis of the distance from his home in South L.A. to the office location in the north part of the city. An offer was then made to the other candidates who lived 20 minutes from the office, and that offer was accepted.
